Improved design cable tow-out trailers

We produced three special trailers with two hinging arms, storage boxes for the ropes, parachutes and equipment, for efficient towing out of the cables from glider winches.

These new units can tow two, four, or six cables and are designed with versatile options for towing cables on grass or paved airfield surfaces. They also hitch and unhitch easily from a towing vehicle and can’t break down as a lorry might.

For the British RAF Air Cadets who will be using them, these trailers replace 10-year-old, much heavier ones that required two people to lift them onto a vehicle.

The newly-designed trailer will suit other military applications and civilian clubs looking for trailers built specifically for winching and gliding.
